about

Stephan Patterson’s latest work, People and Places, is a wholly instrumental and eight-track release around a half hour long. The bluesy, jazzy, and instrumental pop/rock leanings from the heart of America are showcased eloquently and with remarkable dexterity. [...] The combination of Americana-type melodies and folk/jazz-focused instrumentals creates a pleasant listening atmosphere. It is clear anyone with an interest or passion in instrumental folk, jazz, and early Americana music in a contemporary setting will love and appreciate the compelling music. Overall, Stephan makes a great album that will be enjoyed by ‘people and places’.

about

Stephan Patterson Montréal, Québec

I'm a guitarist and flutist from Montreal, Quebec. For my first album, People and Places, I enlisted the help of session musicians Mark Matthews on bass and Max Sivkov on drums. The album comprises eight original compositions that blend jazz, folk and country music... Instrumental Americana!

In parallel to my own music, I am also working on a tribute to the wonderful Natalie Merchant.
